June 16, day 9
Started out the day great as we had to take a cold shower, haha. Needless to say, we we're all wide awake after that. Went to Bulawayo Baptist Church to hear Jeff's sermon. He did a great job teaching about Eph. 3:14-21 as he's doing a series on praying like Paul. Jeff keeps is simple, fun & explains everything well. 6 people also got baptized so that was cool being able to see that. I got to see Sharky at church & I also met his wife & son, great family. I hope I can see him 1 more time before I go back to SoCal.
After church we picked up Pastor Vu & left for our 6hr journey to Victoria Falls. Took some great pics on the way and Julie & I met a very nice teenager @ the gas station. He was selling some wooden animals to help him & his blind father or grandfather. Julie bought a few things so the boy gave me one as a gift, that boy is very generous & kind!
We finally made it to Victoria Falls around 8pm. The rest lodge looks nice, it's a little dark but the cabins we're staying in are cool. Pastor Vu is my roommate. Pastor Vu is a friendly guy with a great laugh. We had a great conversation about church but one thing he said me a little sad. I asked him about other local Pastors getting involved in the Smart Choices program. He said that they liked it but didn't want to get involved unless their church would benefit financially from it. It's a shame that some pastors are more worried about their own financial gain instead of teaching a great program that involves the Gospel to high school students. Pastor Vu is a great example for the other local pastors & hopefully they will have a change of heart in the future. I'm looking forward to teaching alongside Pastor Vu.
