June 10, day 3
Wow, what a day! Today was the 1st day of teaching the Smart Choices program @ Muntonkokudla High School in Mtunzini. We have around 55 students in the class, the other team has around 70 students. Our students are well behaved, funny & participated well. We did well considering it was the 1st time teaching the program as a team. The students went crazy when Julie Horn & I walked around the campus & started taking their pictures. One girl shook my hand & then kissed her hand, haha! The students love to pose for pics!
Great day hanging out with the 3 Pastors from South Africa that are on the team, Kenny, DZ & Thulani. Mandla & I have made a great connection already & I'm looking forward to the opportunity of coming alongside him & helping him on his walk with Jesus. Mandla is eager to spread the Gospel & the Smart Choices program back to his home is Swaziland. We went to visit Zodwa's sisters house where she runs an orphanage. It's always cool getting to pass out clothes, toys, etc. & get to see the big smile on the kids faces.
Beacon of Hope is growing & can make a big impact in South Africa! They're trying to establish a Beacon of Hope South Africa board in Richards Bay & Glynn Smith was interviewed. He was able to talk about the Smart Choices program & the Gospel! Looking forward to seeing this program grow!
I finally had some wife & was able to FaceTime with the wife & kids for a few min. Anj sent me a cute pic of LeaGrace & I got a little choked up. Today was very busy but it was very fun!
