June 14, day 7
Great way to start the day, we ate breakfast then Mark, Glynn & I threw the frisbee for around 10 min. We headed for the beach & the weather was perfect! We did some shopping @ the local shops and we also walked on the sidewalk where all the people sell all kinds of trinkets. Pastor Thulani's fiancé met us there, so that was cool getting the chance to meet her. We drove down to the other end of the beach & enjoyed some ice cream & milkshakes at Milky Lane! There were some awesome sand sculptures on display for us to see!
I was able to give a homeless boy some food & Mark bought some food for a homeless girl. I'm glad we we're able to help them out a little bit. We had lunch @ the Suncoast Casino where I won $2.50 & that paid for my chip souvenir, haha! Mark, Melissa, Julie & I took a quick walk down to the beach after lunch to put our feet in the warm water & to take a few pics.
We headed back to Hillcrest & went to John Tempelhoff's house for dinner. John is a big part of Campus Crusade & works with Glynn on the Smart Choices program. I also got to meet John Jacobson & his wife, these 2 people actually help write the curriculum for the Smart Choices program. The team from Mandini was also there & I met a few other people too. They were all very nice & we enjoyed a great dinner together. We all had an opportunity to
talk about the Smart Choices program & to see how it's growing. Great night of meeting new people & making new friends!
