bryan blog, day 8

June 15, day 8

Woke up @ 4am & headed to the airport. We caught our flight from Durban to Johannesburg where we said goodbye to Mark & Melissa.
It was great working with them the past week, they are fun people & Mark was a great roommate!  The team won't be the same without them.  Glynn, Judy, Julie & I took a flight from Johannesburg to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe where Jeff Scorziell picked us up.  The Zimbabwe airport is very old & very small. The baggage claim was an employee bringing our bags through a double-door & putting our bags on rollers, haha!  On the flight Glynn sat next to a Pastor from Bulawayo & exchanged info, that is a great contact for the Smart Choices program to reach out to other areas in Zimbabwe.
After getting settled in at the Scorziells, we finally had some wifi without a 30min time limit.  It was nice to relax for a little bit to send out emails, upload photos & enjoy a moment of peace & quiet.  Later on, Jeff took us to the Sandra Jones Centre where we got to make new friends & see some very cool things that are going on there. Tammy Scorziell is doing a lot of work there, she's a total blessing for that centre.  After that we made a quick stop at The Nesbitt Castle.  A real castle that has been turned into a hotel & restaurant. The lobby is filled with a lot of animals that were hunted.  I'm not a hunter but it was a pretty cool room.
We had a very nice evening back @ the Scorziells house where we had curry for dinner & a warm chocolate chip cookie for dessert.  Enjoyed catching up with Jeff & Tammy and their busy lives and we also had a chance to get them up to speed on what's going on back in SoCal.  I finished out the night talking with Anj on FaceTime. I enjoyed a few min together, I miss her & the kids.
